Private Sessions

About your Session

Your private Pilates session will incorporate primarily the reformer.  I have a Studio Reformer by Balanced Body.  We will also use the Pilates Chair, weights, BOSU ball, TRX suspension trainer and more.

  

I can cater your session to include weight training, cardio and other elements to make it a truly personalized training session.

What is Pilates?

Pilates exercises develop a strong "core," or center of the body. The core consists of the deep abdominal muscles along with the muscles closest to the spine. Control of the core is achieved by integrating the trunk, pelvis and shoulder girdle.

Pilates exercises train several muscle groups at once in smooth, continuous movements. By developing proper technique, you can actually re-train your body to move in safer, more efficient patterns of motion - invaluable for injury recovery, sports performance, good posture and optimal health.

Pilates is an extremely flexible exercise system. Modifications to the exercises allow for a range of difficulty ranging from beginning to advanced. Get the workout that best suits you now, and increase the intensity as your body conditioning improves.

What is a Reformer?

The reformer uses springs, pulleys, bars & straps to perform over 500 exercises in a variety of positions. The equipment was originally developed to offer movement and rehab to the injured, but today it offers a more challenging version of the matwork.

 

Because of the reformer’s attachments, it is an ideal option for those who need modifications to the mat exercises. It is also easier to increase resistance with the reformer, creating more challenging work for the advanced Pilates client.

 

While the classes are more expensive than mat, they are one-on-one which allows for more individualized instruction. Pilates Instructors can work with a wide range of clients, from rehab focused to extremely challenging for even the most seasoned athlete.
